Ants parasitized by tapeworms

A colony of Temnothorax nylanderi ants parasitized by Anomotaenia brevis cestodes. Fully golden yellow workers, queens, gynes and intercastes are infected by Anomotaenia brevis. When the roof of the nest is removed, the parasitized workers are unefficient and almost motionless.
